The Cole Academy has been my dream for many years. I began teaching in 1983 and served as a teacher in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools for 28 years. I have also taught in my own home preschool when my own children were very young. The past three years after retirement, I spent teaching in a private Kindergarten. My personal philosophy about young children and learning has remained steadfast…. I believe that children should experience life in a playful and hands-on manner. We as the adults in their lives are responsible for facilitating their explorations and teaching them how to become competent, capable and resilient.
